In-Home & On-Location Portraits

Since most companies do not operate in the same fashion as Precious Memories we will atempt to clarify our process.  Instead of you coming to our studio currently we offer in home or on location portraits.  At this time we set up any equipment photograph your session.  After this you have a few options.  First you may view your portraits imediately on our laptop and order them off basic portraits or you can order a proof book of all your portraits and see them on paper in 48hours to do your ordering.

When you make your appointment keep in mind that we include our set up and viewing time in your session.  Our appointments start at 10:00 am which means we would leave our location at 8:30 a.m. (to account for traffic).  Once we arrive at your home we must set up our background holder and the background(s) we will be using for your shoot.  Also we must set up our flash, camera, and the laptop for your viewing.  This does take time so if you set up your appointment for 10:00 am plan to have your portraits taken no earlier then 10:30.  This reminder is important when you are having small children photographed.  We will take as many portraits and poses as you; the customer, requests within the time frame. But when your session is scheduled it is scheduled in a specific time frame so if your appointment is 10:00 to 1:00 we will begin packing up at 1:00 no exceptions.  We aim to be done shooting within an hour so that there will be no problem with timing.

Shooting portraits:  Please keep in mind when we say that we will shoot as many portraits and poses as the customer requests there is some guidelines that must be followed.  Children older then two years old can not be photographed in the nude (this is a federal law).  If the customer convinces a photographer to do this those pictures will not be ordered and will be erased from the memory card.  That being said we will photograph safe and legal portraits.  If your child acts out we can reschedule the shoot for a different day and time.  Please do not have your child ready for portrait as soon as we arrive if the are small children; they will most probably get messy while we set up the equipment.

On-Location Portraits:  Any on-location portraits taken outdoors will be taken in natural lighting.  This will give off a different perspective then using a fill flash so please be aware.  If the weather turns stormy during an outdoor photo shoot it will be rescheduled or moved inside.  Portraits at an outdoor location may not be available for immediate viewing due to electrial supply at the location.  Any portraits done at an outdoor location must be scheduled to end before dusk to view portraits same day.

Viewing Portraits:  At your home or indoor location we will be able to plug in our laptop and show you the portraits on the spot.  If you request portrait that take right up to the end of you session it is possible that you may not get to view them at that time.  In this case you have two options.  Option 1:  If there is no other appointment after yours that our photographer has to be at you may purchase an extra half hour to view your portraits.  Option 2: Schedule an extra half hour within the next 48 hours to view the portraits on the computer or in a proof book.  If the delay is on the photographers part; i.e. hits traffic and arrives late, or equipment malfunction then the half hour will not be charged.  If there is an appointment after your we may still not be able to show you your portraits same day.  To avoid any of these we have made our time frames with those possibilities in mind.  As long was portraits are done in a timely manor and leave 1 hour to view and order portraits everything will work out without anyone being inconvenienced.

Proofs:  Proof books can be order to see what your portraits look like on paper before ordering.  The charge for these include our returning to your location.  The portraits can not be copied from these books since copyright laws are in effect.

Ordering:  All portraits shown in home or on-locations will be proof worthy which means no touch ups at this time.  Any red eye will be removed from your portraits, we can attempt to remove blemishes but make no promises.  Other touch ups can be attempted but there is a fee for those.  Of course if we are unable to do the touch ups that you pay for you will receive a refund of your money for those touch ups.  Order turn around is 72 hours back to the company and 96 hours back to you the customer.  This gives us the time to touch up portraits and proof them when they come into the studio.  Around holiday's it is possible that portraits will have a longer turn around based on how many orders we have. If you are unavailbe for delivery on the set date then it could also be longer for your portraits to be delivered.
